Petros’ Story
Many people have come to Australia as immigrants to find refuge, community and hope for the future.
Petros* was born and raised in an Islamic nation as a devout Muslim. He had strict rules to follow and wanted to move his family to a free country. He had never been exposed to the Gospel.
By God’s grace, he was invited to a Bible Study upon reaching Christmas Island. It was there, while seeking asylum in Australia, that Petros read and understood the Word of God in his own language!
After moving to Melbourne and attending Bible college, Petros was introduced to SIM and began serving with Across. He began an online ministry for those from his country, which grew from 22 families to over 200 families in just a few months.
Petros was able to connect with many people seeking true hope. He went back to his country to baptise 110 people saved by Jesus. Praise God!
This Christmas, will you become a ministry partner of Across? With a monthly pledge of $50, $100, or $200, or a one-off gift, you can provide the true hope of Jesus to the ethnic communities living in Australia.
